We met in 2013, back when online dating still felt a little experimental and OKCupid was the app to be on. We were two college students in Washington, DC who decided to meet up on New Year’s Eve and bake a cake together. The cake was a complete disaster (the only one Cass has ever ruined) but from that point on, we were always by each others side.

We were just 20 and 21 when we met, we’ve grown up together. We grew into our relationship the same way we grew into adulthood: side by side, figuring things out as we went.

In 2018, we took a big risk: we packed up our dog Ellie, two cats, and everything we owned, and drove across the country to Los Angeles. To no one's surprise the first thing we did was adopt another dog (before we even had furniture in our Echo Park bungalow.) We spent six years building careers, making lifelong friends, and traveling more than either of us ever expected. It was a busy, exciting chapter, the kind that shifts your whole life in the best way.

By 2024, we were ready for a different pace, so we moved to the Catskills in New York. Now we split our time between traveling, creative projects, cuddling with our dogs and cats, playing video games, and hanging out with our nieces.

From a failed New Year’s cake to cross-country moves, sky-rocketing careers, and adding to our family one dog at a time, our story has always been about evolving together, and choosing a life that feels good for who we’ve become and where we want to be.
